Dr Nicholas Stubbings

Nick is a GP with a special interest in sport and exercise medicine, as well as musculoskeletal (MSK) injury.

He has worked as a pitch side doctor for numerous football and rugby clubs and has previously served as team doctor for the Sheffield Eagles Rugby League Club and the London City Lionesses Football Club. He is the currently the team doctor for Colchester United Football Club. Through his elite sport roles he has been involved in identifying and assessing cases of suspected concussion in professional and academy athletes.

Nick graduated from the University of Leicester Medical School in 2016 and qualified as a GP in 2022. Prior to his medical training he studied pharmacy graduating from the London School of Pharmacy in 2007, and worked as a clinical pharmacist in renal and critical care.

Nick also has an advanced pitch side medicine qualification, a diploma in musculoskeletal medicine and he is also currently undertaking an MSc in sport and exercise medicine.
