Dr Tom Axon

Services: School Doctor Clinics; Telemedicine concussion clinics; Match-Day Doctor

 

Tom trained at the University of Birmingham medical school, during that time also completing a BSc in Medical Ethics and Law at King’s University London. He worked in Hertfordshire during his early junior doctor years, before moving to North London where he qualified as a GP.

Tom completed a Masters in Sports & Exercise Medicine via the University of Bath, undertaking research into the impact growth and maturation has on adolescent sports injuries. He is a member of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK, as well as currently being a match day doctor for Ampthill RFC, Charlton Athletic FC and London Irish Rugby’s academy. His previous experiences includes rugby (RFU assistant doctor, Saracens academy match day doctor), and mass participation events as a doctor (London Landmark half Marathon, Wimbledon Championships, Netball World Cup 2019)

Tom is an avid sportsman, self-described as a “jack of all trades, master of none”, with his interest in sports medicine enabling him to combine his work and passion.
