Juan is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine currently working in London. His medical training was based in Caracas, Venezuela, and worked there as a general and emergency physician before coming to the UK. He developed an interest in Sports Medicine early in his career, providing pitch side cover for local football clubs in his home town and facilitating life support courses. He has developed a sub specialty interest in musculoskeletal medicine, trauma and prehospital care and as such has continued to work in parallel within the sports medicine field. He has been involved in providing acute care for rugby, football, athletics, gymnastics, ice hockey and rowing athletes, mainly at school and university level, both in the UK and during international competitions.

He is passionate about exercise and sports, and firmly believes in the benefits and positive impact these have on people’s physical and emotional fitness and their wellbeing. He is committed to deliver a dedicated high-standard acute prehospital and emergency care and is a keen educator of junior doctors and clinical practitioners.
