Role: Medical Secretary

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 dependent on experience

Location: SW London

Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Work Environment: Office setting with options for remote work.

 

What is the job?

We are looking for an organised and process-driven Medical Secretary or Medical Administrator to provide comprehensive secretarial and management support to our clinical teams, playing a key customer-facing role and delivering exceptional standards of customer service and patient care.

Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has excellent organisation and communication skills. Previous experience in similar roles within healthcare is desired.

You will join the company at an exciting time, playing a key role in providing fantastic care to our patients as the company grows. A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary to work for a young, growing private healthcare company and help to shape the company over the coming years.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient support, primarily through the running of the company’s support phone and email inboxes, ensuring timely responses with the ability to service inquiries without consultation.
  • Administrative tasks including but not limited to managing patient information, booking appointments, arranging payments, collating patient feedback and rota management.
  • Creating reports to support colleagues and drive service improvement.
  • Collaboration with internal teams on ad-hoc projects.

 

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working as a Medical Secretary or Personal Assistant in the healthcare space. Experience working in private healthcare or in start-ups is a bonus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and working knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • Be customer-focused, service-oriented, possess strong verbal/written communication skills, and have the ability to trouble shoot, problem solve and balance conflicting demands.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, manage difficult and emotional situations, remains calm under stress, display empathy and maintain positive communication.
